Charcoal and smoke. Not any detectable rum thank God. Solid stout but no way in hell a revisit at $6.

A - Pitch black with reddish tints. A fluffy pile of head rises with Jack Frost like webbing and mosaics on the glass.
S - Roasted malts, charred oak, vanilla, rum cake.
T - Full bodied and chewy mouth feel. Big malt profile up front, layers of charred wood, smokey, boozy but balanced with a velvety and chocolate backbone.
O - Another solid imperial stout from odd side. This brew doesn't push the envelope as much as some of the other barrel aged variants, but it is still solid in its own right. I was hoping for a bit more rum and I didn't get any ham or bacon.

Bottle poured into a snifter
One finger dense creamy brown foam cap over motor oil black liquid , settles to islands and a clingy ring , good lacings
Aroma is rum
Taste is rum, char , roast malts. Rum first and then char. The char taste dissipates as the glass warms
Low sudsing, full mouthfeel, some bitter sharpness from the char
Good beer

Very nice Imperial Stout! Pours oil black with a dark foam head, about two fingers worth that settles to a few centimeters. Aromas of roasty malts, coffee, cocoa, with a touch of sweet and saltiness. Flavors of nice roasty and toasty malts, with a slight honey ham sweetness, a light fruitiness, and some rummy characters upfront.
