Imagine the flavor of Banana Pecan French Toast in an Imperial Brown but with an added layer of Whiskey barrel character. It's lighter in body than a stout with a nice sweetness throughout, but not lacking at all in its 12.7% abv.

And we've arrived at the lastBIF beer that BigIronH sent me. It's been quite the ride so far, especially with all the stuff from Odd Side. Harley really put me on to a new brewery to keep an eye out for. This one sounds super fun, any beer with banana is worth a shot for me. Let's dive right in
Pours a murky medium brown with a finger of creamy light tan head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The first whiff lets you know this is gonna be a sweet one, but I'm totally fine with that. I'm picking up on aromas of caramelized banana, pecan, cinnamon sugar, cocoa powder, molasses, sweet whiskey, light raisin, and vanilla ice cream
The sweetness takes an odd turn in taste, a bit flat might be the best way ti describe it. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting earthy cinnamon, overripe banana, raisin, dark bread, molasses, brown sugar, light oak, and cocoa powder. The swallow brings notes of overripe banana, earthy cinnamon, pecan, vanilla bean, chocolate cake, dark bread, red grape, and molasses
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out over time
This one is definitely a bit strange but a pretty damn good one overall

Pours caramel brown with a light, nearly thin layer of foam. Aroma is immediately one of bananas. I can detect nothing else, though perhaps there may be a hint of nuttiness. Taste is far more of the french toast and though banana is present, it is not as dominant as in the aroma. Mouthfeel is moderate, carbonation is good and the whole brew is on the sweet side. Although a bit unbalanced, it is nevertheless nicely pleasant and very drinkable.

Reviewed this blind and did a terrible job of figuring out what it was. Reddish hues coming out of the can made me think barleywine, and there was a bit less than an inch of tan colored head. Aroma was funky. I thought I was getting peanut butter, but that clearly wasn't it. Still not sure how to describe the smell.
Taste had plenty of barrel and some alcohol bite along with a mix of flavors that I couldn't pick out individually at all. Some sweetness on the finish. Enjoyed it more as it warmed. Overall a great beer to try out!

Pours a cloudy deep amber with ruby hues in the light. A one finger mocha head of foam rises and recedes to a thing ring. Nose initially is all banana, biscuit, and nuts(pecans). Taste follows suit but reveals a delicious baked banana bread with nuts soaked in syrup and a very subtle whiskey burn. Interesting how OddSide manages to pack these flavors in. Feel is chewy and mouthcoating. Overall, well above average. 4/5 across the board.
