Brewed 11/09/2020 from a 12oz can. Poured into a tulip glass
Pours a very dark rich black. No light thru this one. Minimal head even with an aggressive pour. Obviously not much lacing
The mesquite comes across immediately. Not too intense but obvious. Some notes of coffee, dark roast, and a little of the bourbon.
There isn’t much mesquite flavor; there, but very subtle. Nice malt, coffee, little chocolate and nice bourbon flavors. The bourbon is not heavy, almost perfect in that it doesn’t dominate or overpower the beer flavors. I am drinking a beer not whiskey so this is something I look for in barrel aged stouts.
Mouth feel like almost all Odd Side stouts is wonderful. Smooth and creamy and a small sip just seems to linger forever.
Another hit. I hope they decide to brew it again. It was part of their Black Friday lineup for 2020. I continue to be a big fan of their stouts.
