Definitely has a bite after the first tastes of the chocolate and oaky bourbon. I would say about 5 seconds in and you get that bite of heat. After the original taste the heat doesn't hit nearly as hard though because of you getting used to it. It is something that I would order again.

 

I have never had a beer that I've found too spicy, and I'm not even a hot food freak. Average hot wings is my liking. Most pepper beers are a mere dash of heat like a Wendy's chicken nugget. Regular deleterious was decent. High hopes this is as spicy as the habernero sauce I add to mediocre ipas.

Looks is incredibly dense sludge.

Smell has some pepper notes but not hot. Just the vegetable aspects you find from green to banana.

Taste is dry, chalky, dusty cocoa and heat. I strangely don't get the pepper flavors I expect from the nose. Really, there is no pepper in the taste.

The feel shines though... an excellent heat tingles the mouth and lips. It doesn't hurt or burn but it tingles just right. Just like a hot wing leave you in a touch or distress this beer hits that note as well.

Overall this just missed the mark on the flavor..its almost bland.
