German style bock lager. Rich, slightly toasty, notes of caramel.

A lovely dark lager, as they call it. Very smooth, moderately strong. A Christmas gift from my son, bought in Ohio. What strikes me strongest is the lovely dark color, and you might expect a stout from it, but it is both strong and refreshing (faithful to its lager heritage) and satisfying. I may go for another right now.

Pours a dark amber color with a small white head. Has a very faint barley smell to it. Not much taste, light caramel taste. Surprising cause oddside usually brings the flavor.

I’m generally a big fan of Oddsides so was looking forward to drinking this Bock style beer to see what spin they might have put on it.
To my surprise, they didn’t. As far as I can tell this is pure bock; malty with a little bit of hops, your standard caramel and bread, a little molasses to round things out. The sole drawback is it’s not as deep of flavor as I expected.
The feel has just enough body to keep me from just slamming it (That’s the proper way to drink lagers, right?)
OA, glad I tried it but probably won’t be an annual purchase.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
