From a tap to fill a clear pint glass, it came. It's just about black coffee brown with virtually no head. It smells delightfully sweet, with coconut and pecan leading the maple and coffee inclusions. The taste has plenty of coconut, enough pecan and more coffee than there was to smell. It's decadently rich and smooth across the palate, with little notice of a fairly high ABV. Yes, it's sweet, but it's a dark and complex sweetness. The coffee and roasted malt mitigate that aspect by drying and bittering the finish a mite. Although it's smooth enough to go down quickly, this is a recommended sipper, with its ABV and taste complexity. Besides, you probably won't want to have more than one a sitting. The caveat being that one must like coconut to appreciate this brew. In this case, the no head/no glass lacing was an accurate omen about its one flaw. This particular sample could have used some more carbonation, but that's only a minor complaint.
