pours a dirty penny honey colour. moderate carbonation with a nice fluffy head and some splatters of lacing are notable qualities.
the nose is a cloud of rye malt and extra prickly grapefruit. the bitterness can be smelled and dryness imagined upon wafting this one up into your face. some crystal caramel notes add complexity.
the flavor is very palatable. moreso than some of the other rye based brews that can become quite overbearing with repeated quaffing. there is a bitterness and dryness that allows the flavors to flourish even in the presence of these hop qualities and inherent rye dryness.
the mouthfeel makes this brew all at once drinkable and hefty and satisfying. substantial, yet easy to drink. tastes great less filling.
overall, this is another good recipe from odd side. this is one of the better rye beers I have sampled. this is my new years eve jug and it is good.

On tap at Odd Side during my Christmas trip to Michigan.
Pours a moderate copper color with a good off-white head and plenty of lacing on the way down. The nose carries a bit of rye and semi-sweet malt with a good bit of floral and earthy hops in the background. Slightly resinous in the flavor with a good, dry finish after a medium body. Somewhat similar to Red's Rye. Pretty good.
