Bottle: a standard brown 330mL bottle with a pretty boring and a bit chincy label.
Appearance: pours a pale amber with a touch of orange highlights, plenty of visible carbonation. A fluffy head pops up and drops quickly to a patchy cap.
Aroma: grains up front with some tobacco and some light caramel malts. Quite a demure nose, and particularly uninteresting.
Taste: again the palate is completely dominated by a cheap grain and corn taste, with some tobacco and a tiny bit of yeasts. Unimpressive.
Aftertaste: drops away fairly quickly, with some bitterness.
Mouth feel: a light body with spritzing carbonation. Everything about this beers tells me it isn't a Belgian.
Overall: I was shocked after I completed my review that this was intended as a Belgian Pale Ale. I was certain it was an attempt at a 'better than usual' lager / pilsner. The body is too light, it is dominated by grain and some malts instead of citrus and Belgian yeasts. Certainly not the best example of a Belgian Pale I have ever seen. in fact, I would say it was near the bottom of the list. Drinkable at best.

Bottle pour at the BevMo Holiday Beerfest held at Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, and some fruity aromas. Taste is much the same with a fruity finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is pretty drinkable and tasty.

Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is pretty drinkable and tasty.

Clear orange to amber colored beer with a medium sized off-white colored head.
Smells sweet and malty with a heavy tobacco aroma. Little bit of coriander but a stronger herbal scent. Little bit of wood but this really smells like unlit tobacco.
Starts out sweet with the taste of chewing on a cigar. Little bit of brown sugar, but mostly this tastes like a Cigar.
Mouthfeel is light.
Drinkability is OK. Not a drain pour but this is just OK at best.

Smell - This doesn't smell anything like a BPA. The grain is retched and reminds me of a dirty ashtray.
Taste - The grain is disgusting at the taste. Again, it's like an ashtray but now mixed with moldy corn and rotten Gummi Bears.
Mouthfeel - Here it faired better. The carbonation is light and sprightly and I even get a dash of bitterness at the end.
Sinkability - There were parts of this beer that were OK but overall this sucked even by Italian beer standards. What in God's name possessed them to call this a Belgian Pale Ale I have no idea.

Because the Italian Beer Festival starts tomorrow, it feels appropriate to go into that day with some Italian beer tonight. From a 750 ml bottle, on to the beer:
Despite the Doppio Malto name, it pours golden. A healthy golden color, with a fluffy head on top. The nose is very underpowered. There's a little bit of pale malt sweetness, grainy....very dissapointed with that aspect. As time goes on, I can pick up some candied apricots.
Despite the aroma setback, it has a good flavor. Sweet and fruity is the way it's going. Some candi sugar, citrus, echoes of hops, light colored fruits. The alcohol is hidden, light and quick in the mouth.
Is this Belgian? No, it is Italian. Not sure if I'd immediately claim it to be the Gold of Milan though.
