This beer poured a clear yellow body with a small white head.
Nose is grassy and fruity with a very light wheat smell. Touches of banana, bubble gum and even a strawberry or cherry type smell come through as it warms. Very fruity wheaty yeast.
Very light bodied with a clear yeasty and wheat flavor. Very mild for a wheat, but present. Bready, doughy, yeast, wheat, slight fruit, not citric at all. Strawberry, cherry, passion fruit, banana, bubble gum, lots of nice mellow fruit juice sort of fruits. Ends with a clean crisp wheat flavor.
Surprisly good for an amercian wheat. Not even close to a true bavarian weis, but not to shabby as wheaty lawmower session beer.

This beer is almost two years old. Found it in my cellar beside some homebrews (plain gold cap). Didn't expect much, but decided to open it rather than just chuck it. Boy, was I surprised!
Pours with a huge amount of head, but it's a lighter beer, so makes a nice brilliant white foam sponge instead of a rocky brick. Served in the laser-etched Boston Lager glass, it keeps spewing bubbles from the bottom like an undersea volcano.
Crystal clear light golden color (no hint of pilsner green) with that stark head, very attractive. No hint of haze. Persistent 1/4" foam, looks beautiful the whole time.
Aroma is spicy and clovey, very slightly phenolic, unexpected for an American wheat, also with some grassy maltiness. Nice, heady aroma.
Flavor is spicy, with a good bite, surprisingly malty for the light color, good wheat flavor.
Effervescent mouthfeel, big stinging bubbles like seltzer, plenty of bite fizz combined with mild hop bitterness. Fills the mouth on the finish, nice body.
I'm really pleasantly surprised by this beer. My homebrew wheat beers don't cellar for shit, this got better with age. Highly recommended. I'm going to go buy some more ASAP, and if it's not quite as good, save it for 2009.

Poured into a pint glass from 12oz bottle. Had a light amber color, but was very hazy/cloudy. That was reflected in the beer which tasted unfiltered. (Might be, but I wasn't expected it to be that way) It also has a slight sweetness to the beer which I couldn't place. Very easy to drink (ended up drinking it faster than I had planned) A good beer on its own, just not what I was expected for a wheat.

Pours beautifully with a chaulky white head that lasts...providing linear lace with each sip. This beer was surprisingly clear unlike most wheat beers.
The smell provides some excellent traditional wheat aromas: cloves, nutmeg, citrus.
The taste disappoints: this is too close to traditional American lager for my liking. The typical flavors of a wheat are quite muted. The body is also far thinner than I expect in a wheat offering.
Great look and smell, but it's downhill from there.

This offering from Nashoba pours a maize yellow that leaves a cloudy body with a thin white lace. The aroma is wheat, banana, honey, citrus (orange/lemon), some earthy spices from the hops throughout. The taste starts malty, banana is really present, cloves, and leaves a wheat twang and a sharp bitterness that is just crisp and refreshing particularly on a summer day. This brew is really balanced with that malty banana caramel sweetness, the spicy hops and that tart wheat twang all come together so nicely. This is a great example of a Bavarian wheat beer.

A tasty, zesty, if slightly simple brew.
Pours a deeper, darker cloudy straw than several other Pale Wheats I've tried recently. Head is a solid finger, finger and a half, and this left some decent lacing. Looks like a good wheat.
Tastes just shy of one... but absolutely worth the try. This is an EXTREMELY crisp/dry wheat, so particularly for those who don't want quite as much yeast or wheat and who like a bit of a hoppy zing I would say this beer is just about perfect. The lemon citrus really comes out big, and I just can't get over that finish. It's not a big hop hit, but it clears everything. There are subtle banana/clove hints, but they're barely there, what's left is malt. There's absolutely nothing inoffensive or off-putting here... but there's nothing I can latch onto that makes me want another, either.
I could drink these all summer afternoon long... I'm just not sure I wouldn't get bored.

A: Pours a hazy golden color with a huge frothy two finger head that retains quite nicely. Pretty nice, but thin lace.
S: Good fresh wheaty malt notes with a hint of banana and spices.
T/M: Oooo, Band-Aids...ick. Once the Band-Aids go away, theres an ever so slight lemon and banana wheat taste. Mouthfeel is thin and watery on this very light beer. Aftertaste of...you guessed it, bandaids. Creamy and smooth with a slightly dry stinging lemon tart aftertaste.
D: Not a very drinkable beer, unless you like sucking on bandaids. Maybe this was just a bad batch, but it wasn't at Julio's 2 weeks ago so... Try it if you're brave.

Pours a one-finger white head and leaves no lace. Pale, cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and light bodied. Sour lemon nose. Starts with a citrusy, sour lemon flavor, stronger than most wheats and yeast is not noticeable like it usually is in a wheat. Finish is clean, this would be a good summer time beer. $1.65 for a 12oz bottle from Julio's Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Poured a misty field of wheat color. No head and fairly flat looking. Nose is parts wheat and citrus. Flavor is a lot of what I got in the nose. The wheat is a bit more mild and the citrus (coming across as lemons) is a bit more pronounced. Some cloves too but the lemons are a bit too strong. Mouthfel is a bit watery but an odd thing is that the lemon has that tart and tangy feel on the taste buds that eating a lemon does. Almost too tart.

12oz bottle purchased as a single at Julio's, Westboro, MA.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a huge 4" white head over the slightly hazy golden brew. Head slowly fades to an airy froth, which laces surprisingly weakly. Aroma is effervescent, lightly spiced wheat. Taste is tongue prickling bitterness with watery wheat undertones. Mouthfeel is thin yet biting, and drinkability is poor enough that I almost dumped it. I will revisit at some point, in hopes that this isn't the way it's supposed to be.
I don't know if I'm a big grump rater now, or if I've just had a lot of uninspiring brews, but this one continues the trend...

I had been having problems with head and lacing with Nashoba, so I poured this one nice and hard.
Pours a cloudy orange-amber, topped with a four finger white head, left webs of lacing.
Lots of clove and spice in the wheat filled aroma.
Clove and spice on top of wheat taste, banana and toast aftertaste, nice and tart.
Medium bodied to the light side, great drinkability due to the tartness.

The beer pours a pale straw color, a swirl of the bottle releasing the yeast sediment to cloud the beer nicely. A huge, bulky white head forms on the pour, slowly settling into a tight coating about half a finger thick. Impressive head retention, keeping a solid coating over the beer the whole way through. Sticky, streaky lace clings to the glass. No complaints here.
The aroma is fairly neutral, more or less your average american wheat beer. Mild, airy wheat malt balanced by a present floral hopping. A touch of banana-like esters, along with a spot of wheaty sourness. Some pear notes somewhere in there. Pretty standard for the style.
The flavor starts with a mild, passive wheat maltiness, a bit of husky barley apparent towards the middle and into the finish. Soft pear esters in the middle, with a touch of dryish banana into the finish. Mild floral hopping, lingering into the aftertaste with a touch of metallic flavor similar to a german pilsener. Definitely noble hops. A bit of wheaty sourness in the finish, apparent on the sides of the tongue. A lightish medium body supported by strong, energetic carbonation. A touch of husky grain in the mouthfeel, making this a bit more interesting than your typical american wheat.
My first beer from these folks. Not a bad brew, particularly for summer. American wheat ale is one of my least favorite styles, if not the least. I'd probably opt for this one if the craving for american wheat ever hits me. I like the mild graininess. This style of beer is really neutral and inoffensive, and it adds a little something to remind you that you're drinking a craft beer. I look forward to trying some other stuff from these folks.
