Don't remember where exactly I had this beer, I think it was at a beer festival. I gave it a very good rating because I like this style of beer.

De Beer Repúblic. En copa Teku. Jugando a Cyber Shadow y, luego, a The Medium. Muy equilibrada pese a sus 12.5 grados, con el coco dándole un toque refrescante y el paso por barrica proporcionándole muy ricas notas a madera

22 oz bomber into a snifter
2015 bottle, opened 01/29/21
Jet black, little to no head. Nose is of unsweetened cocoa, burnt sugar, bourbon. More anise-forward on the palate, reminding the imbiber this is a Russian Imperial. Oak, coffee, stodgy grains. There’s a weird kind of marshmallow-y sweetness at the sip’s close, and the mouthfeel is a little thinner than it should be. But overall a pretty drinkable example of the style.

A salted caramel porter, bourbon-barrel aged and served on-tap in Garden City in a snifter.
A: Mostly jet-black with a thin white head and spotty lacing.
S: Complex, sweet, and a little funky; roasty caramel; chocolate; boozy coconut; surprising dark fruit, figs.
T: Smooth and delicious, with some moderate booziness; that caramel and coconut push through and combine with the chocolate notes and barre treatment for a treat of a porter/stout. Dark fruits here, more like a dark dried date, and there is a slight saltiness.
MF: Creamy with a touch of heat to cut the mouthfeel; sticky, and dry on the finish.
O: A big tasty oatmeal stout with some unique treatments. Thumbs up.

I found this by chance and it turned out to be a real find. Pours dark with a nice lacing. Strong smell of coconut and barrel aged booziness. Taste is very boozy. First beer from this brewery and I hope it is not my last.

May 13th, 2015 - Coming from Spring to Summer and now to the Fall 2014, the beer in front of me has grown very dark indeed. It is opalescent and black with a little shimmer of cinnamon colored light peeking through at the bottom of the taster where the glass runs down to produce a thinner stem type column. The aroma is huge and coats my nostrils with hazelnut and nutella and molasses, and even the smell of freshly cracked peanut fragments. And the flavor is huge and bold, with a bright clarity and a sense that it's been oaked. Nutella and hazelnut appear here too, alongside stronger notes of whiskey and teriyaki for additional and very much appreciated layers.

Taster at BitterCreek. Inky black with tight beige head. Creamy. Mild, sweet aroma, milky, roasty, coffee. taste more so, smooth and creamy. Chocolate milk. Mocha. Sweet, a bit of tang. Lots going on here. Tasty AF. Comes together quite nicely.

2017 release.
This pours a fairly dark black, with a small head, and basically no lacing.
This smells like sweet and roasty peanut butter, with oak, caramel, and marsmallow.
There's really not much barrel here, just a tiny bit of oak and not much else in that department. There's a good level of peanut butter, and it's not the artificial garbage taste you generally get with peanut butter beers. There's lots of creamy vanilla and marsmallow too, with the expected chocolate notes from the stout.
This is medium bodied, not incredibly thick, with a normal level of carbonation.
This was a fun first beer to try from Mother Earth. Most peanut butter beers don't work, so it's nice to see a good one. I definitely wish there was more overt barrel character, though.

2014 bottle poured into a 15.5 oz snifter.
Look: Dark and opaque body, with a fine, creamy mocha head. Light brown around the edges. The melting legs leave sticky lacing around the glass. The head pulls back to a halo, leaving a fine film over the top.
Smell: Sweet roasted malts with some smoke and bitterness. Throw in some dark chocolate, caramel, and top it off with some bourbon. Nice aroma.
Taste: The taste is similar to the smell. Add some faded tart cherries. The bourbon definitely plays a bigger role than I thought. Booze. There is some warmth in the gullet and a vanilla finish. This one smells better than it tastes.
Feel: Crisp and creamy. Needs more leftover lather. Thinner body than not.
Overall - It could be that I have not had a bourbon barrel aged stout in a few days, or this is pretty good. I actually think it is pretty good. I am happy to have another bottle to try in another year or two.
