Starting with the base of a light hybrid ale, we created a deceiving clash of styles through the creative use of adjuncts. Close your eyes and you’d swear you were drinking a stout, but look at the glass and you will see a light, brite, and smooth drinking beer. Utilizing coffee, lactose, and malts that lend a healthy body to an other- wise thin beer, Imagination Land has a super clean finish and a slight residual sweetness.

a really fun beer here from these guys in a style that i have pretty much entirely gotten over, even if this is the one fad style that wont seem to ever quite die. i am glad it hasnt, as its brought this one to life. not as over the top flavored as some of them, with plenty of malt character and sweetness still to be appreciated under the coffee, which is robust, roasty, and bitter in here and does a better job of playing the roasted barley role in this beer than is usually the case, and this could be a stout with your eyes closed, at least more than many that make the same claim. there is some lactose in here, but it seems almost more for texture than anything else, and its not much of a distraction to me at all. not to sweet to drink a whole one, the coffee has great bitterness to balance, along with a cool dark chocolate and cocoa powder nuance to add complexity, and really there is a ton of coffee in it. i like that there isnt vanilla in here, its not necessary but everyone seems to use it in this sort of thing. smooth body, they have beefed it up well, maybe some oats in the mix here, caramel malts too. better than a novelty, which is more than i can say for a lot of these blonde stout types. mother earth always hits on quality, and this is one of their more creative beers i have encountered. if you, like me, are over this blonde stout phenomenon, give this one a try, its better than most! great and prominent use of the coffee here. could have a little less body, the flavors and dryness have me wanting like five of them, but its a little too heavy for that kind of drinking...

Poured a golden orange color with a nice fluffy white head. Aromas and flavors of coffee, sweet milk, and some smooth espresso roastiness all balance nicely. Creamy mouthfeel. Very good example of a golden coffee milk stout.
