September 23rd, 2016 - I'm not sure I'd put tanginess and coconut together, but here we are with Mother Earth Ma's Kettle Coconut. A very blonde and bright beer, the smell is a touch light, though there is a clear acidity and tanginess that identifies this clearly as a Berlinerweiss. But no coconut. Instead, that appears softly in the flavor, and is more easily enjoyed in the aftertaste. I'm not sure it adds much, though the base Berlinerwiesse flavor is nice and bright by itself.

March 17th, 2016 - Fate brought me to Mother Earth when my partner's car broke down in the neighborhood. We decided to have a couple pints and started with the Kettle Sour. It's a very pale beer, almost cadaver like, with a lighter aroma. It's not entirely twangy, but has some sweet and sour notes of pear, slight touches of popcorn butter and a tuft of lemon zest. On the palate it is spritzy and bubbly like a champagne, with a thinner body, but by no means watery, though it gets close. There's a nice tang in the middle and aftertaste, which I enjoy more than the foretaste. It's a great beer for a hotter day like today (which marks the end of the cold snap.)
