16 oz can from the Boise Co-op. Light golden body with a light haze. Light hoppy aroma, grassy. Taste is more pronounced, hops, straw, minor pine notes. Crisp. A bit dry with lingering bitterness.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the Boise, Idaho location as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear golden with white head which left a spotty lace. The beer was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Probably going to be my last new FH this season. An end to the best time of year.

Beautiful light golden body that's clear enough to make out images on the other side, and words if you squint, but not totally clear. Nice puff of white head that leaves gorgeous lacing down the sides of the glass.

Even at a month and a half this thing is still bursting with fresh bright juicy tropics, citrus and fruit punch. Makes me excited for the rest of the can.

Flavour starts off with an interesting umami kind of thing going on. Some melon (more cantaloup than honeydew) and a dull earthy bitter swell that's more woody than piney. An interesting melange of low notes (low as in bass vs treble, not low as in unenjoyable). I assume some of this uniqueness is from the Idaho Gem hops, with which I am not overly familiar. I'm curious as to how else they can be used, because I could see them being unpleasant in certain situations, but it works well here.
Body is smoothe and gives an impression of being thicker than it really is.
I was impressed with this one. If it is the last new FH for me this year, at least I get to go out on a high note. (Probably third? Maybe fourth? best FH beer this year out of the several dozen I tried).

a wet hop ipa from these guys, pretty sturdy as they go, deep golden in color and high headed from the tap. aroma here is fresh cut citrus, earthy minerals, and hash oil, definitely fresh hops in the nose, but its also more balanced than a lot of these, with some medium weight grain richness coming through. the hops are nice in the flavor, a citra and mosaic sort of complexion, fruity without being tropical, citrusy without being bitter, and very oily and fresh. i get some curious spiciness i dont normally associate with these varietals or their immediate peers, and i get some sweeter melon thing in there too. not sure what they used this year, but it works. they are well balanced by the grain, which has a honey sweetness and some body. there is a little vegetal greenness at the end that interrupts a smooth and delicious brew, it almost comes on like harsh bitterness, but mild, if that makes sense, takes away some of the bursting freshness, but keeps it very hoppy all the way through even with the malt on this. good carbonation, but off dry and a little filling to me. this is close to being amazing, but for now its just pretty good. these guys make a lot of good hoppy beer, and this one doesnt really stand out as anything above the others, at least for me, but its definitely well done.

edit: they have done this with simcoe here in the fall of 2025, some six year later after the above review, not sure if the hops change year to year but they have this year, its pretty subtle too, not real compelling as a fresh hop beer, even though its good, it seems tame and safe, almost pale ale rather than ipa, lacking assertive wet sticky newness and intensity that i like in the best of these, lightly dank and with some herbal brightness, bitter orange, and a decent bit of malt almost over smoothing it. this is solid, but its not a standout this season by any means. simcoe can do a lot more than it does in this...
