BBA S'MORES IMPERIAL STOUT
AFTER 12 FULL MONTHS IN BOURBON BARRELS, 4S took on a complex toasted barrel character that is further enhanced by dark, roasted malts. This brew drinks smooth with a thick body, jet black color, and brown lingering head. We also added a touch of cinnamon and dark chocolate during the whirlpool and marshmallow flavor after debarreling, which lends a graham cracker-like flavor for additional complexity. Enjoy this this campfire classic with friends and family. Best when slightly warmed.

Canned 12/14/22. Drank 6/27/25
Pour is inky blank with a , slightly fizzy half finger of cinnamon head.
Nose is chocolate, marshmallow, hint of graham cracker - definitely getting smores!
Taste follows - definitely getting smores. chocolate, marshmallow, graham cracker, bourbony oak comes through on the finish.
Smooth, creamy, full bodied beer.
Overall a good beer. Definitely hits the smores notes.

So I thought I had the same beer twice, but upon searching some of the Next Glass databases, I see that they were different variants of the same base beer. This is the one I had in the can. Preferred the maple on draft, but this was still a winner.
Pours black. Its not a mild stout. 1/3" brown head. Its got legs under it, thick, viscous, like that old woman on Tinder in her 40s that says she is 'thicccc." The aroma is largely sugary, marshmallow for the most part. Things like roasted malt and cinnamon nuance are largely lost in the shuffle smell wise. Bourbon? I mean, I had to search for it.
The taste was strong, the alcohol is there, but it doesn't have a massive bitterness or burn to it. The roasted malt is there, but the sugary mouth feel generally keeps it from registering too much. Its a big abv beer, does a decent job at keeping that from being oppressive. I like this beer, but its also a style of beer I've generally moved on from at this old balls age.
You're the inspiration is a pretty cool love song. Ratchet lyrics are weird.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark, dark brown pour, syrupy, flat. Aroma presents a double hit of chocolate and marshmallow. Taste reveals a bit of roasty malts, then chocolate, then marshmallow with a trace of graham. Velvety, slick mouthfeel. Incredibly smooth. Sweet, luscious.

One of the more impressive '4 Seasons' offerings I've tried from Mother Earth, they nailed the S'mores aspect and the barrel presence is nice, not too sweet on the adjuncts either; cinnamon, dark and milk chocolate, brownies, marshmallow, graham cracker...good stuff.

the latest in this impresive series, another dessert inspired one, smores this time, cool idea, and better than some previous ones in that its not totally diabetic, some of these have been insanely sweet, this one is manageable. i think the full year in the barrel is cool, this is mature and woody and very bourbon forward, even ahead of the smores ingredients, which gives it some more refined appeal to me, and nothing is overdosed to the point of being unnatural or forced, so i think they did a nice job overall on this. the head doesnt last long but the beer still looks good in my glass, leggy and rich and sturdy, dark brown, moderate shine, not grossly dense. the aroma is warming and wintery, and this makes sense for the winter release right away, even though nobody makes smores in the winter do they? the cinnamon is not a traditional smore ingredient where i grew up, but its what gives this the cold weather appeal i think, and ive seen it in several smores beers over the years now too. the nose shows deep roast, milk chocolate decadence, warming cinnamon, and indeed a marshmallow thing thats more than just generic sweetness, more than just white sugar. the whiskey is strong here too, which i think slows this down and gives it a regal vibe, vanilla is bold in it, great with all the dark malt. the flavor is brown sugar and milk chocolate up front, less roast than i smell, not quite enough bitter for this to really be balanced, but its close. bourbon dominant, wonderful with the cinnamon, thats the best synergy in this. cocoa and graham cracker notes for sure too, and a nice smoothness from the wood and the sugar. its not as boozy as anticipated either. even though i dont want to drink a ton of this, i liked it real well, its pretty tidy, and it seems to suit the festive season. nice continuation of this series, i have really come to look forward to these!
