way more bold than a lot of these, but still very drinkable, more golden to even bronze in color than the standard real pale yellow, high shine and stunning clarity though, short white head from the tap, a neat addition to their lineup, and despite the style norm, this isnt quite summer beer, which is perfect on the precipice of spring. more bold in aroma and flavor too, not just color, this is hoppy for one, but its also fuller bodied, plenty of pale barley in here with the rice, which doesnt stand out to me other than a light floral waft up front in the nose. its not real delicate, but thats okay, i like the fresh slightly toasty grain profile, the blooming freshness, and the subtle lager yeast element thats all through it, and this is cleanly and seemingly patiently lagered, like the objective quality is awesome even if the recipe is questionable in some respects. i want a little more from the rice but i like what the hops do, more bitter than most but its not at all out of place, complimentary lime and grassy notes, some pleasant linger after the swallow. refreshing when ice cold, more flavorful when it isnt, a more robust take on the style, sort of european a little bit to me, overall distinctive and good but not quite hitting as light and easy as i prefer in these...
