they had a bunch of cool new ones downtown when i was there this most recent visit, cool to see a lot of these smaller batch beers finally happening, it was getting stale in here for awhile before these all started dropping and i am loving them! this might be my favorite of the ones they have right now, a simple but well refined oat based stout thats full and creamy but not too much to drink on when the weather is nice, much lighter and drier than their milk truck, which isnt hard to do, but i was stoked on this, roasty without being bitter, chocolate forward but without apparent added flavors, and with the oats adding quite a bit to both the flavor and the texture, definitely successful. never burnt tasting but very dark, black in the glass and with some body from the oats. dark chocolate, dark soil, and dark skies, this has something cozy about it, like without being strong or anything its sort of comforting, like a hug for the palate. a light hop thing to the back end is not out of place, an almost neutral yeast is adequate, and the tidiness overall of this is awesome, very professional and polished, which some of these small batch releases have not been. a pretty textbook take on the style overall here, long on the palate and hearty but repeatable, ill drink more of this next time in!
