Brewed with our friends at Coronado Brewing Company, we designed a West Coast IPA that pays homage to the oldschool, but with a modern twist. We wanted shades of the classic grapefruit, resin and pine IPAs of 2010, but by way of new hop varietals. Instead of Centennial, Cascade, and Chinook, we used Talus, Elani, and Simcoe. The results are similar, but better. Bright ruby red grapefruit, lime zest, and pine dominate the flavor and aroma and there is a light, balanced malt bill that make the hops shine.

Clear bright yellow-amber brew with plenty of foam in the big Duvel tulip. Aroma of orange and pineapple with cut grass and pine. Flavors of citrus and papaya. Aftertaste is moderately but pleasingly bitter with a dose of grapefruit. Overall this is one of the better IPAs I've had this year. Rich, robust flavors, and thoroughly satisfying. From the 16 oz can purchased at a neighborhood liquor store. Dated 06/18/24.

Draft at the Handlebar. Clear, dark golden pour, white foamy head settles out to fine ring. Aroma is malty, pine citrus, a little bit of everything. Taste is hoppy, pine first, followed closely by zesty citrus, with some caramel malts cropping up in the background. Lingering bite. Refreshing.

a collaboration with coronado, a cool get for these guys and a neat beer in this series, both dry hoppy and bitter, west coasty and super satisfying, sick can art too! talus, elani, and simcoe in this, a wicked combination, been loving elani recently, and cool to see talus, which seemed to go from darling as a numbered varietal to a little bit overlooked once it got a name, this is a wicked mix, and its as flavorful as it is aromatic. a pretty honey colored brew thats radiant in the glass even without immaculate clarity, the head is equally puffy from the draft and from the can, pure white, big bubbles, looks right on. some maltiness in support of all the hops, faint middle sweetness but its earthy too, just enough to it for this to be balanced the whole way despite being entirely hop driven, as it should be. hints of meyer lemon and strawberry to me in the nose, a little weediness too, mandarin orange from the can, coconut water, green grape, and then plenty of bitterness, which is there in the taste too. cool fruit layers, berry to me again from the talus, some ripe melon character from the elani it seems, and obvious grapefruit from the simcoe, a little more familiar there and pushing up front to me in the center of this, the bitterness is snappy and so fresh, this has some real pace to it, and the aftertaste is awesome too. this is a cool collaboration, its summery, the hops are distinctive, even memorable, and ive really been enjoying these. a top recent beer from mother earth for my money!
