neat how they have kept up the small batch beer pace here, a bunch of new ones on again when we were in last night. this is cool because it isnt sweet, sometimes these basic wheat beers with fruit come through really sugary, but this is on the drier side as they go, and i think somewhat subtle on the fruit, but there a few things working for this. the first is that apricots are in season and it sure comes through like real fruit, these can be mellow, and they are in this, slightly floral in the nose and a bit juicy in the flavor, but the fruit part is tight, the wheat malt can be appreciated too, and there is nice balance to it, subtle lemon and orange citrus character from somewhere also work in favor of the apricot. the other thing i like is the overall lightness, with being so low in body, so pale, and so clean in the ferment, a little bit of apricot character is all that is needed, this isnt one of those heavy over flavored ones, and as long as its going to continue being super hot here, i appreciate the easy this comes with. mild tartness late which lightens it further, white florals but not perfumy, earthy super pale wheat the whole way too. delicious and summery, no frills, a serious contrast to the grossly sugary and unnatural cali creamin series, i hope for more like this in the future, enjoy it while you can, subtle but great.
