Approaching this release from a slightly unorthodox standpoint, at least as far as the hop combination goes, our brewers aimed to meld the flavors of traditional IPA hops with modern varietals that produce loads of tropical fruit. Hop trials and oil analysis led to the combination of Simcoe, Vic Secret, and experimental HBC 586, which is known for its medley of fruit aromas, such as mango, guava, and lychee. The malt bill consists of almost 40% oats and wheat for a big mid-palate body and lasting haze.

On-tap in Caldwell; hazy yellow-ish pour with a white ring of head lacing. Fruity mango and papaya, citrus rind, floral hops, orange juice, some zesty characteristics as well, maybe from the dry hopping, with some present bitterness.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Hazy yellow pour, thin layer of white foam head. Citrusy aroma with a touch of tropical fruit. Taste brings light citrus zest, grapefruit, some mango too. Fruity, zesty.
