solid, these guys have upped their lager game recently, and the small batch ones of late seem to have turned a corner, lots of innovation here recently too, which was not the norm for awhile, nice to have more options on our last few visits. this is pretty dark, not quite properly czech to me, and getting deep on the grain side of things with some bitterness, bran type malt character, molasses, and even fig fruitiness, lots of layers to this in nose and taste, fully grain driven but with some appreciable old world fermentation presence as well, reddish brown in hue not black, but deeper than some, frothy creamy headed, looks nice in the glass, inviting. the aroma and flavor do baking chocolate, dark crusty hearth bread, hazelnut and chestnut, and some sweeter middle notes before the minerality of the lager yeast kicks up and dries this out a bit more at the end. light raisin, toffee, and maple, but its not overly rich and its still a total drinker. medium body, ample carbonation, a hint of oxidation which seems odd but isnt out of place, gives it subtle import style tiredness not uncommon in the style, especially the true old world examples when you find them around. a little linger but very tasty, balancing bitterness kicking up as it warms, checks all the boxes for the style.

Draft at ME Production Facility. Dark brown pour with a ring of off-white head. Light roasty aroma, faint chocolate notes. Taste is more of the light roast, mild bitterness, subtle textures
