solid little single hop brew here, done with hbc 638, cool to see those in this context, not a super intense beer, pale ale as much as ipa, right on that line i guess, golden colored, pretty bright but maybe not filtered, fresh in the nose and taste, distinctively fruity from this hop varietal, like bigtime tropical character without really being citrusy, so pretty unique, well dosed and pretty tidy on the ferment, simple beer but drinkable and effective, a little almost estery to me with some of these fruit notes, but its good. to me there is a little oily resinous character to this, both in texture and in taste, that carries the hop layers of canned pineapple, green papaya, jasmine, and guava, juicy and a touch sweet, kind of palate coating, a little weedy, the hops start early too and then linger some, even without this being overly intense or bitter, so the hop experience is a longer journey in this, which i dig. faintly belgian in a way as it warms, from hops, but like, hints of coriander and bubblegum and even like a parsley thing come in. toasted grain, a little honey, very little bite or back end snap here, just sort of a slow fade, slightly relaxed carbonation suits it well too. these hops contribute interesting fruit characteristics, apricot and mango too along with the pineapple, maybe ripe nectarine too, would be curious to see 638 in action in a more intensely hoppy strong ipa, seems cut out for that. good bit of innovation at mother earth of late, been digging all the new ones!

Draft at Boise taproom. Clear golden pour, wispy head, rings of lacing. Light dank aroma, pine Taste is hoppy, pine, trailing dank notes, musty, herbaceous, resinous. Seemingly light, but tons of flavor.
