an incredibly impressive specimen, enjoyed at the loose screw fresh hop event this weekend, done with fresh dolcita hops, which i believe used to be 1019, i knew these were getting a name and going all the way, what an awesome varietal, and what a killer expression of them in fresh form, among the best beers ive ever had from mother earth, which is saying a lot on the hoppy and hazy side of things where they have always delivered. this is next level though, the aroma is straight ripe yellow peach and peach ring candy, unbelievably potent and fresh, like it almost has to be terpene spiked but i dont think it is, which is nuts. moderate haziness to this, nice and pale, frothy draft head on it of pure white foam an inch high, racing carbonation keeping it light for being a double. the aroma is nuts, so much peach, so fresh, some sativa fruitiness and dankness too, starchy pale grain, maybe some raw wheat, dry there though for a stronger one, no sign of its strength in the nose, floral and feminine but also very pungent, orange blossom and bellini, its wild, just fabulous, more fruit than beer, seems fruited, which it isnt, just absurd. most of whats there in the nose is also there in the flavor, still really peach forward, white peach, mango, good champagne, subtle lime leaf and tangerine and elderflower, but its also just peach juice, way more from this hop in fresh form than i have ever gotten from it in pellet form, and i already liked it a lot, but this breaks new ground, outrageously impressive. its oddly not that sweet for being this fruity, its nicely supported by the fluffy grain, some oats in here too i would think, and its soft and creamy and quick. elite quality and fresh hop intensity, a brilliant showcase of dolcita, which will now doubt take off. this is among the best fresh hop beers ive had all season, cant say enough about the nose and this peach profile from these hops, fabulous! maybe the best mother earth beer of all time!
