This was another BeerNV selection, we miss you.
Pours a golden color into the glass. 1/2" white head, good clarity for a fresh hop beer. The aroma under delivers. Its a Simcoe fresh hop beer, which is typically not all that aromatic. Bittering hop thy be. There is a mixture of citrus rind and pine as usual. But its really muted and has a degree of astringency to it in the nose alone.
The taste also seemingly captures only the mouthfeel of bitterness as opposed to say a lush, green, vegetal bouquet of fresh hops. Instead, you get that aspirin and cocaine (cutting agents) bitterness. Its not terrible, it just doesn't deliver the
essence of what a fresh hop beer should be like. The body is light and twangy as opposed to say Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale with a heartier malt bill crystal malt thiccccness style. Just don't think this measured up to the commercial tug job.

Clear amber with plenty of foam in the tumbler. Inviting aroma of orange with papaya and citrus blossoms. This is somewhat sweet, even tasting like yams with a bit of candy. But the flavors are quite pleasing and the stuff goes down easy. Tastes of papaya with some apple cider and orange peel in the finish. Tangy but less resiny than a lot of other whole cone brews. Mother Earth has done a good job with Simcoe as the single hop. From the 16 oz can purchased in Scottsdale. Dated 9/24/25.
