new one, and a cool one, super modern with a bunch of hop products and terpene stuff, which these guys have overdone in the past, but this one seems better dosed, and its quite unique and modern, part of what the future of hoppy beer looks like for sure, all fruit maxed and terpy, this is more drinkable than others, cool that its a pale at its core, hazy and fuller, but lower in abv and bitterness, enough grain and body to handle all the flavor additions, and while its a lot of elements, i do think they combine well, perhaps a bit more aromatic than flavorful, but a really nice beer here as the weather starts to break into spring, this feels right for the season that is upon us. huge tropical notes in the nose, i mean major papaya and clementine and almost floral mango, ripe and juicy and maybe not quite true to those actual fruits but like the best kind of candy mimicking them, yet not real sweet either, some dankness still, the oil factor is obvious, and this is high saturation no doubt. the stuff in here makes this seem flavored, like its not even trying to pretend its just hops, and thats okay, this is better than the flavorings the big guys are using right now, and it seems like something poised to become a lot more popular here soon, the aroma is very appealing, and the added boosters do work well with the hops this is still based on, citra and krush and some mosaic the flavor is a step down from the nose, maybe a half step, but still peachy, tropical, and with some of that red berry krush personality, wild strawberry or something, light coconut, white tea, jasmine, and very low bitterness. rich and oily, starchy from the grain, wheaty texture, adequate carbonation but could be higher, slick feeling and pushing pale ale pretty far really overall, but a cool beer, one to remember i think as these sorts of additives take off in hoppy styles, this is about as far as anyone around here has pushed with these, maybe i dont want five of them, but i sure was impressed with one, especially the aroma...
