Cask **Special cask version with Nelson hops and orange peel**
Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos, CA
Hazy yellow with a creamy, eggshell-colored head. Leaves sheets of sticky lace down the glass. Very pretty.
The aroma is packed with signature Nelson hop elements: big floral character, some grapefruit, and crushed white/green grapes. Very nice, and the best aspect of this beer.
The flavor is similar to the aroma, though the flavors aren't quite as expressive as they are in the aroma. Decent amount of Nelson hop character with similar attributes found in the aroma, along with a bit of wheat, earth, and a moderate bitterness.
Medium bodied with low/creamy carbonation.
Very nice beer; incredible aroma; great drinkability.

On tap @ Mother Earth Brewco.
12/08/12 - Full pint
*Described as a White Session IPA – 4.3% ABV
A: Pours a light fuzzy straw yellow-gold hue with a super white stubborn froth. Vibrant with carb and just waves of soapy stick down the glass.
S: Smells of white grape, lime zest, gooseberry, and some spiced grapefruit. There is a good amount of bready graininess to the nose. Pretty nice aromas with some tropical NZ hops (Nelson) going on.
T: Big Nelson presence in the flavor with white wine and gooseberry at the forefront. Supporting grapefruit flesh and florals with a light dusting of oily pine. Some peppery spice. Wheat tones with a grainy cracker malt base. There is a higher level of bitterness factored in that packs this little guy with some punch. Clean yeast profile as no noticeable esters coming through. Void of alcohol as to be expected. Pretty nice and definitely sessionable.
M: Very light and super dry. Nice crisp snappy carbonation. Mostly thin and watery with exception to the finish. Some lush feel with a lingering bitterness.
D: This delivers as advertised. A light sessions wheat brew with a nice NZ hop punch. Fire up the lawnmower.
I am convinced you can put Nelsons into anything and I will probably like it.
