The layered taste of this Belgian-style Tripel is a humblebrag about our homeland, a testament to our 3 stunning National Parks and the mighty rivers that flow through each: the rugged Bluestone, the playful New, and the raucous Gauley. This jaw-dropping beauty is our backyard. Come see how lucky we are. Hike, boat, bike, zip-- jump into an adventure, and save a cold swig to commemorate your journey.

500 ml bottle poured into snifter. Bottles on12/5/17.

A: Slightly fizzy white head sits on top a murky tan caramel body.

S: getting a little of that Belgium fruity esters presents itself as banana but also getting butterscotch and burnt sugars and a little bit of a grainy finish.

T: lots of the burnt sugars, and bananas, not too bad but it tastes a little muddled.

M: medium to fuller body a slight bit of alcohol burn.

O: I feel like this is an easy style to hide flaws in because the flavors tend to be so strong. I think this one isn’t bad, but nothing to write home about either.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color topped by a prodigious head; streaks of lacing line the glass

Smell: Sulfuric tones waft above the shortbread, pear, banana and Candi sugar

Taste: Shortbread, banana, pear and clove lead off, with spicy phenols building through the middle; the sulfur appears in the finish, along with grassy hop flavors

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: The sulfur and grassy flavors don't blend very well with the Belgian elements

Thanks, xJMFCx, for the opportunity

375ml bottle, bottled 6/18/15, poured into a chalice

A- pours a crystal clear bright golden color with a one-finger fizzy white head that reduces very quickly, leaving nothing behind, it actually looks like champagne

S- spicy powdery yeast with some fruity esters up front with aromas of banana, ripe pear, clove, sourdough, lemongrass & Belgian candied sugar

T- spicy yeast up front quickly gives way to lots of fruity notes with highlights of ripe pear, banana, lemon peel, even a hint of peach. Musty & earthy mid-palate with a bit of a honey sweetness, sourdough bread with light phenolic notes close it out with more musty notes on the linger

M- medium body with medium biting carbonation leads to a foamy bubbly mouthfeel that continues into a slightly creamy finish, alcohol hidden quite well with only a bit or warmth on the linger

O- I had their first batch Tripel a few years ago, and it was one of their best beers. This version seems to have been tweaked and is even better. Well done Nate & Ken.
