A: Very black in the glass, but actually dark brown in color. No head off the pour.
S: Smoked malt dominates the nose, and is really all there is.
T: Again smoked malt dominates. Roast characters struggle to make an appearance under the heavy smoke.
M: A good porter body.
O: Could have been a much better beer, but the classic porter qualities were not allowed to come through. I think MPBC is capable of making a great smoked beer. All they need to do is focus more on balance and less on emphasizing the smoke. Unless that's what they're going for, in which case they nailed it.
