On tap at Whichcraft in Midland MI. How they got this beer supposedly brewed for just the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth is beyond me. Served in a 16oz tall Nonic glass.

Appearance: Very dark brown, approaching stout level darkness. Thin white head with some thin lacing that slid down the glass.

Smell: Very faint roasted malt, not much else.

Taste: Mild roasted malt with a bit of char and an unusual finish that was a sort of mild bland sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Thin, light carbonation, a little sticky on the teeth.

Overall / Drinkability: I feel like this was attempting to be a Schwarzbier, but really was closer to a Euro Dark Lager, but one without much flavor. I finished it, but I would not want another. Meh is a good way I would describe it.

Look: Pure black with a thin off-white head, like Coca-Cola.

Smell: Quite little, actually. A little malt, a little hops, but that’s about it.

Taste: Bitter malt with a small amount of hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: Thin and decently carbonated.

Overall: I wish a beer this dark would be more flavorful.

Had on tap at the Bavarian Inn. Served in a 22 oz tall glass mug. Nice, proper pour with two fingers khaki head that leaves rings of lacing as it's emptied. Aromas of floral/grassy hops and roasted malt. Flavor is roasty upfront, slight char with a floral and zippy finish. Thin-to-medium mouthfeel. Great beer for a great location.
