Guess I'm the first review on this beer. Honestly this brewery hasn't impressed me at all in the past and I didn't even realize this was made by them until after I brought the mix a six home and more thoroughly examined the can. But oh well. Let's try it.
Look - For being a 10% imperial stout this looks an awful lot like a glass of coke. Head is minimal and carbonation appears to be about moderate.
Smell - Fruity and a lotta ash on the nose. Not many stout characteristics to be found here.
Taste - Yeah it pretty much follows the nose so a whole lotta extra detail won't be needed there. Add a slightly smokey aspect at the end.
Feel - Thin with a mildly creamy body. Swallows a bit bitter and easy.
Overall - Where's the stout they promised? I'm kinda torn here. For one thing in terms of a stout this is an epic failure. On another hand, this thing is stupid poundable for being 10%. This shows zero hint that I'm drinking a 10% beer. I guess if you check out this brewery/steakhouse, grab a few pints of this if you want to get lit because you won't know until you go to stand up. Just don't expect a stout. Tastes more like a doppelbock.
