A: Appears black with maple syrup brown highlights, but is actually a very dark brown. Light brown ring of foam for a head.
S: Dark malts, dark fruits on the order of sweetened prune and fig, very slight roast and toasted malts.
T: The beer has had some time to warm up, so the dark fruit notes have unfolded quite a bit and are the most pronounced. Pretty light roast - what I would describe as an imperial Guinness flavor; roasty, but not roasty enough.
M: Slightly oily and slick, a little bit creamy, not too much carbonation. A little too light bodied for an imperial stout.
O: A fair imperial stout, but it needed to be so much bigger and bolder. To give one suggestion, I think this would actually be improved if it was put on nitro. Impervious already has a light body, so why not use nitrogen and make it extra quaffable?
