Its a solid beer, but the aftertaste doesn't do it any favors. Glad I got to try it but after having Consider Yourself Hugged, most peanut butter cup type beers don't meet the mark.

DATE: May 28, 2021... OCCASION: more 30 Rock and beer--this time, one whose can hilariously skirts copyright infringement to evoke a beloved Hershey treat... GLASSWARE: Duvel snifter... quickly out of its can, the head sizzles before it rings a light brown halo surrounding a similarly-tinted island... its body is jet black--dare I say imperial... the aroma of peanut butter, mocha, confectioners' s sugar, ginger, licorice and (most noticeably) coffee approximate the candy but soften to its porter base... the draw is wet, oily and smooth--its 8% ABV lies well hidden, as each sip is gentle and slightly viscous to the throat, leaving a subtle finish... this is a scratch-and-sniff approximation of the original, with the cocoa and roasted malts, coffee and small hints of peanut butter that make this an enjoyable, though less than imperial experience.... this wasn't a bad idea to take a flyer on, but it doesn't ascend the pantheon heights of its aforementioned namesake....

Saw this at the Bottle King recently and had to give this a go since the label looked just like a certain candy that I shall not mention on here! I was hoping that the liquid would also remind me of it and to a large part, it did although this was a bit more filling than I would have liked as this wasn't quite like any other Porter that I've ever had...
Of course, this poured as dark as chocolate with a bit of coffee lightness around the edges of the liquid, as a sufficient and bubbly tan head topped this off. Only a few hints of lacing remained as I worked my way through this as the liquid wasn't terribly thick in consistency. Lots of peanut butter, cacao nibs, and peanut butter cup filling in the nose as the taste had some peanut oil, bitter chocolate, and cocoa powder to round the mouthfeel out. Oily, sticky, and full, there wasn't any particular malt unless the chocolate variety was used in this. No roasted undertone as the alcohol and carbonation were present, but hardly noticeable.
No idea when this was brewed as there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can but it felt and tasted as fresh as could be as there wasn't any sediment to be seen in the liquid. While this was not the real thing that I'd get or give on Halloween, this was not a bad substitute as it was fun, easy to enjoy, and almost called for a glass of milk as a chaser. Still have the kid in your? Grab a can of this and relax to it while thinking of the innocent days and nights of yesteryear...
