Infected, Batch #229 2020 version. Thick, opaque pour with a fizzy mocha-colored head. Rich dark bourbon booze and cherry-like tartness on the nose. There are some rich roasty notes of coffee and chocolate and bourbon in the body of this brew too but its buried under a layer of wild yeast tartness as this beer warms. I had high hopes here, 2 years in a barrel and you could tell this one had potential, but it becomes acrid with overwhelming sourness.

A - Pours the classic thick dark engine oil colour with a dark Beige head that retains well and laces
S - Malt and molasses, Vegemite and a little dark chocolate.
T - Well the boozy bourbon is definitely a feature with a malty salty molasses aftertaste, with the slightest hint of vanilla. Very boozy flavour.
M - Full body and low carbonation
O - This beer is big, but a little over done, it lacks the subtle balance of great beers of this type. However if you enjoy a big bold Impy Stout this will not disappoint

I consider this brewery to be the best brewery in Oceania. They never fail or disappoint.
