On-tap at THG.
A: Pours a clear ruddy brown with a cap of soft fluffy off-white foam.
S/T: Taste full of spices with notes of ginger, cinnamon, evergreen tips, and slight cocoa. Sweet up front, maybe a touch of molasses, while the finish is full of a leafy, slightly minty, bitterness. Overall the ginger impart its characteristic flavor without any of the spicy heat. The aftertaste is a hint of caramel but isn't necessarily sweet. The nose is similar to the taste but very mild with hint of ginger, spices, chocolate, and leafy hops. Flavors could be brighter.
M: Soft mouthfeel, creamy carbonation, medium body, solid bitterness.
O: I would have liked a stronger ginger presence in this to really drive home the gingersnap flavor profile, but this was a solid brown ale that I'd check out again.
