On-tap at Social Kitchen
This is some sort of red ale (probably fermented with Belgian yeast) with black peppercorns added.
A: The pour is a clear amber/copper color with a creamy off-white head.
S: This beer lives up to its name from the word go. Lots of black pepper, way too much, in fact. There's a slight red apple fruitiness to it and some toffee/malt undertones.
T: The pepper flavor is slightly delayed. Up front, the beer is decently sweet with some toffee and caramel along with a touch of fruitiness. There is a strong pepper flavor on the finish that leaves a slight heat on the back of the tongue and throat.
M: This is medium in body with a medium to high level of carbonation.
D: A cool name for a beer, but way too peppery for my tastes. Less pepper would have served this beer better.
