341ml bottle poured into pint glass 16/6/13

A clear straw yellow with plenty of tiny bubbles feeding a short lived finger of foam that leaves no lace

S sweet skunky grains, bleach, stale cracker and rice cake, smells pretty bad

T much like the nose but with some rotten lemon and somehow that's actually an improvement over the nose

M thin and well carbonated with a grainy skunk aftertaste, about on par for the style

O premium lager? not so much, I'd take a macro over this any day, tastes and smells a little nasty and I won't bother finishing this one

Clear bottle from the dollar bin? I should know better, I have a feeling this one's old and stored poorly but I doubt it would matter, avoid.

Had this on tap at the Mondiale de la biere 2011 in montreal.

Talked to the owner, he says they have a one year contract with Brasseurs de Montreal, Inc to brew his beer and they wanted to get his beer out there before they decided to expand.

Looking at this beer, I had no expectations. Looks like your simple molson/budweiser beer but i was rather surprised when I tasted it. Might have been that I was at the mondiale and it wasn't my first beer but this wasn't like all the others.

I like trying beers and that includes every beer so i had to try this. I will go buy a 6pack just to try it again to make sure it wasn't the beers talking but so far so good.

Failry light too so it makes for a great summer beer that you can have a lot of in one sitting.

Ok, I hate obfuscation in beer production origins (I'm looking at you, Mountain Crest...). The bottle says this is brewed by Brasseurs de Montreal, Inc., however the website for that brewer shows no such "MTL" brand. Tabernacle!

This beer pours a clear pale golden hue, with one finger of foamy white head, which leaves a ring of droopy lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of classically infamous skunky Euro-lager - crackery grain and stinky herbal hops. The taste is sweet crackery white grain, and fruity, herbal, skunky hops. The carbonation is average, the body medium weight, more or less smooth, and clean. It finishes fairly sweet, the malt showing a bit more clearly after the skunky aroma has burned off.

Wow - definitely a blend of North American and Europe - though not the particular aspects one would hope for. The clear bottle guarantees a certain light-struck quality - present and accounted for - emulating the wrong kind of European lager sensibility to go with an adequate, but stricken, underlying malty Quebecois lager.

Comes in a clear bottle. Bah! Poured into a pilsner glass. Two finger bubbly white head on a well carbonated clear . Good head retention - good lacing.

Sweet malt smells.

Grainy, wheaty and kind of sweet. Very mild hop finish.

Medium body. Good carbonation.

Drinkability is good. Nice to see a good quality Canadian lager.
