a NICE BREW. Not much in the way of peaty-ness but as a malt-forward Ale is does the trick. Mouthfeel is nice...Taste: no off-notes. Purchased at the Brewery (the only way in Utah to acquire hefty ABV beers). I'd buy again. And I'd enjoy again.

I like me a good Scotch/Wee Heavy Ale and as I remember this was a winner. Had it after my flight as a dessert beer. Medium mouthfeel and very little alcohol taste. Have had better but still a very good one. Who would have thought a good brewery in Utah.

Look - a deep dark brown in color and a 1 finger head from a 22 oz. bottle - the head receded quickly but quite a bit of activity remained thankfully
Smell - decent amount of toffee and yeast - slight tart dark fruit as well
Taste - a bit sweet at first until the rich malt and pumpernickel flavor comes in - dries out quickly and then I got some yeasty flavors (almost a German Hef / Dunkel flavor) - trails off with some bitterness and dark roasted grains - there is a strange and chemically-tasting aftertaste
Feel - a bit thinner than hoped - still a medium+ brew - stays pretty active and interesting
Overall - a decent Scotch Ale - not quite as rich and caramelly as I had hoped for - may be a bit too dry as well - it is an ok beer and worth trying at least once
