An American-style wheat ale flavored with 100 lbs. of wild Maine blueberries.
A: The ale comes with a sickly blueberry juice color that verges on a blue-red blueberry innard color. The hue isn't dark, leaving the ale translucent. A white head, in contrast to the body, fizzes away.
S: The nose has sweet blueberry aromas, punctuated by the occasional sour note. The APWA aspect is rather forgettable, so focus on the blueberries.
T: More sweetly tart blueberry juice. The ale's body is very light, allowing the juice to become the sole focus of the ale. The sweetness is mild, meant to be an accompaniment even though it ends up dominating the ale.
M: The mouthfeel has both sweet and tart blueberries and a very light and airy wheat base. Perhaps the citric tartness of the wheat gets lost amongst the fruit. I narrowed my growler choice down to this and the Apricot Weizen and, surprisingly, the apricot weizen won out.
