On tap at the brewpub served in a pint glass. This brew appears a lightly hazed color of yellow. Less than a finger of lightly off-white head appears and quickly recedes. It leaves patches of lacework on the glass. A light swirl revives the cap back to a finger's strength.
The smell of this brew is lightly spicy initially and then becomes quite an assault on the nose. It smells strongly of coriander, lemon and a touch of something that is lightly herbal and perfume-like. As the brew warms, it faintly starts to mellow out and picks up a touch of clove.
The taste is very spicy with clove and herbs almost like coriander and grass. The belgian yeast is evident with some very light grain influence. There is a bit of a green yeasty quality evident throughout. The taste of this brew starts to get distracting and is almost like perfume, just like the aroma indicates.
This is a light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is easy drinking while cold but as it warms up it becomes a chore to finish. I wish I would have got a short pour of this one instead of a pint. The alcohol gets a bit exaggerated with the over the top spiciness of this Wit.
