Pours a pitch black color with a big tan head. Head falls slow to nothing leaving decent lacing.

Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Not overwhelming and not much else.

First thing I notice is it is very thin and metallic tasting. Does have a roasted flavor but really get the metal taste in the middle and it finishes rather clean.

Rather thin in the mouth, nothing like it looks. Surprising.

Does not seem like a stout to me.

Go this from a friend from St.lucia.

Interesting name, stud...pours a rich black with a small tan head that eventually completely dissapears

Smells almost like a light rum with molasses, and some coffee undertones as well as some herbs, actually a decent, different aroma.

You can really taste the ginseng, its almost too sweet, aftertaste is not very enjoyable. It had a wierd chalky mouthfeel, this not a drinkable beer, it's different but not delicious.

I bought this in a supermarket in Grenada, upon deciding that I owed it to posterity to try all 8 of the beers they had in stock, not including the U.S. staples.

This is a decent looking beer - very dark brown with a small, quickly disappearing head. The smell is primarily of chocolate malt and something chemical and offputting. The beer is thin - way too thin to call itself a stout, let alone "power stout" - and malty. It tastes of chocolate and, overpoweringly, of whatever that chemical smell is. It is as if someone dropped an herbalife tablet into a watery beer. This is one to choke down, not drink. I can't help but wince with every sip.

I had been looking forward to drinking and reviewing this beer ever since i booked my holiday to Tobago. Not because of the other reviews, but the name just tickled me.

Sadly the beer didn't live up to its name in the Stud stakes.

275cl Brown bottle, in date. Poured into a tumbler on a balcony in a hotel on Tobago.

Dark, very dark brown with a tan head which dispersed straight away, pity.

Burnt aroma, toasted malty bread, interesting, but too roasted for me.

Treacle, but thin in the taste and mouthfeel. this is not a sweet stout, or rich and creamy, nor full bodied like the bottle claimed (along with other claims of stamina and satisfaction).

Glad I've tried it but it won't be the reason I re-visit Tobago again.

The actual label: Stud Power Stout: This Rich Nourishing, Full-Bodied, European Style Stout contains select Malt and All Natural Herbs including extracts of Ginseng, Yohimbe, Tribulus, and Bois Bande for Stamina and Satisfaction.

This was one of those beers you see and your brain knows that there's no conceivable way it can be any good but you know you're going to buy it anyway. I was on my honeymoon in Belize and as you might imagine, they don't offer a great variety of beer so when I saw this in a Chinese supermarket it was full speed ahead. I have to start listening to those nagging doubts...

Conducted from notes. The color was dark but not black and unsurprisingly headless. Plenty of carbonation was visible, however. The nose was a very sweet chocolate malt with a touch of something artificial but not so bad under the circumstances.

The taste was close to heinous. Toasted malt was detectable but drowned under by aggressive carbonation and a nasty, soapy astringency throughout that somehow became more pronounced in the aftertaste. Carbonation mostly renders mouthfeel moot in this situation.

I am thankful for the laugh this gave me and I saved the label for posterity but this was terrible.
