The full name of this brown ale is Tomfoolery Honey Nut Heather Brown Ale a mouthful to say, but a pleasure to drink. Tomfoolery is an autumn seasonal brewed with honey and heather. It is brown with a ruddy flush of mahogany, a slight rim of head, and no lace. The aroma is yeasty and succinct.
Though I cant discern heather in the taste, the distinctive mix of honey, herb, and malt makes for a graceful, artistic brew. The taste has broad notes of cola nut followed by a lively hazelnut aftertaste that brings a tinge of sweetness to the lip.
A fun beer with plenty of flavor and enough intrigue to keep you guessing. I drank this on the autumnal equinox and couldnt have asked for a better brew to toast the new season.
