Served in a small Pils glass, Northern Lights Heli Bock is a chill hazed rusty orange with a smaloff-white head that leaves decent lace.
Smell is rather muted at first, but after warming from the fridge serving temp it opens up nicely. Pretty big sweetness, honey and wildflower, slightest rubbery phenols, yummy.
Taste is clean and neutral, some fruity, honey sweetness, but a bit light for a helles bock (in both flavor and ABV). Still, a nice beer, just a bit simple and not what I expected or was originally in the mood for, although the more I drank it, the more I really liked it. A good session beer for après-ski when you're to spent to drink something too strong, a flavorful alternative to boring yellow lagers for sure.
Mouthfeel is very nice, exceptional creaminess, a medium light body that is just a touch sugary.
Drinkability is high, a nice little helles bock. Flavorful and satisfying in spite of being on the small size for the style, a very easy drinker for sure.
