From just down the road, Falls City is packaged like a craft beer, and they're definitely going for the craft fans with a budget (sort of). Pours hazy with no head or smell and with that tiresome straw color, strike one. Another typical super-sweet cheap beer, like corn syrup was poured in, with some hops for the craft crowd. If you're drunk enough, you might taste some malt or some grain, but I wasn't drunk enough yet.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate bright yellow + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of mottled very thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of bready + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of grassy hops and a light aroma of lager yeast.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than light flavors of lager yeast. Finally there is a light flavor of grassy hops which impart a slightly stronger than light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving a clean finish.
M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a refreshing crisp + clean mouthfeel. Enjoyable and perfect on a hot summer evening after spending the day at the pool with the kids.

Undated 12oz can (they date one can per 6 pack, so beware on singles) poured into a vintage bow tie glass at fridge temp 4.5% ABV 15 IBU. The beer pours slightly hazy golden straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and shattering of bubbles. The aroma is light grain and nothing else. The taste is grainy (like straight 2-row in the mash) with a barely tart and lightly bitter finish. There is a hint of floral and grassy hops as it warms. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. No off flavors or flaws. Overall, ok. I'm tempted to say this is simply a classic American lager, so I'm not trying to hold it to the Bohemian style. I may buy an entire 6 fresh and revisit. Certainly drinks easy, with some flavor.

Falls City Classic Pilsner has a medium, creamy, off-white head, an odd, murky, gray-gold appearance, and some glass lacing. The aroma is strange- Belgian spicy yeast. The flavor is likewise strange, but bitterness is in play. Mouthfeel is medium, and Classic Pilsner finishes on the dry side.

Aroma is a mix of grainy and husky malts. The flavor is husky/grainy malts, mild fruit/bubblegum/small hint of tropical fruit and a slightly sweet/mostly smooth finish.

12 ounce can, born on 05/04/18 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy dark gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like bready/grainy malt, corn and some light hops. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, but there's also some light grassy hops noticeable. I think the bready/grainy malt is the strongest flavor. Mostly sweet tasting. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth, crisp and is pretty easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. It wouldn't be too hard to have quite a few of these at a time! Got a can of this from a friend who drove up from Louisville last weekend, unfortunately Falls City hadn't released this yet when I was in the area earlier this month. If you're looking for a good easy to drink brew, then I recommend this one. It's a great choice for a hot day!
