Bodach, meaning "Old Man", in Scottish Gaelic is a Wee Heavy aged in freshly dumped Bourbon Barrels. A rich caramel and toffee character is accented by boozy notes of oak and vanilla. Don't let this trickster fool you, at 8.5% ABV this is a slow sipper.

16 ounce can, no dating on it but looking online I believe this was a February 2021 release. Served in a thistle glass, the beer pours a somewhat hazy reddish/brown color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like caramel, oak, vanilla, bourbon, brown sugar, toasted malt, toffee and bready malt. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some raisin/dark fruit noticeable too. Decent amount of barrel character. It's a sweet and malty brew for sure, but not overpoweringly sweet. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, thanks to my buddy Denis for picking this up for me. Would like to try this one again in the future!
