Falls City began as Louisville’s first craft beer in 1905, when a group of bartenders and grocery store owners wanted to break a local monopoly on beer production. That same independent spirit lives in this innovative Pale Ale, carefully balanced to be a little maltier in the English style, rather than hoppier, like most American Pale Ales. Think of it as an Octoberfest that hasn’t been lagered.

12oz can, Sam Adams glass, canned 5/

Nice amber color with a small creamy head.

Malt, caramel, metal.

The same with a little hop bite.

Soft, creamy body and low carbonation.

This is a good beer, ya know? It’s beer, it’s good, but it doesn’t stand out.

12oz can at hotel. Murky amber pour with a small foamy head. Nothing too exciting here, pretty standard fare. A nice malty presence, caramel, sweet, light bitterness.
