Made from history but built for pizza, Falls City partners with Parlor for a toasty drink to go with the toasty crust for a match made in smoldering heaven.

Pouring innocently enough, the hazy straw ale looks the part of kellerbier and wheat beer, even while capping off with a cotton white froth. But the secrets reveal themselves quickly as the nose brings a robust scent of smoldering embers, burnt citrus and fresh dough. As its underlying sweetness brings flavors of light honey, light bread and communion wafer, the taste is succinctly wheaten.

As the smokey pours over the middle palate, the undercurrent of sweetness dries to leave an essence of brushfire on the palate. Lemon, apple, white grapefruit and orang peel all seem caught up in the toasty, smokey flavor, the finish falls lightly bittered with burnt citrus peel and herb.

Medium-light in body, the history grodziskie-styled beer sees new life in a modern pizza pub, finishing with a long draw of savory smoke far beyond the malt or hops.
