My favorite Black IPA. It is pretty balanced.

On tap at the AllTech Conference, Dublin.
Inky with ruby highlights and tan film.
Ash, dark chocolate, earth and blackberry on the nose - no hops, worryingly.
Black rye, black malt acid, and resiny, piney hop bite.
Black currant end and sour blackberry juice ending.
Chewy, medium, oily.
Very much a hoppy porter. Roasty leaness, but not over the top. A bit sharp and not much sweetness but easy enough.

This is the first new offering from Falls City is over 2 years. The beer pours a pitch black color with a frothy tan head. The citrus hop aroma is really present. The hops lead through to the flavor, but are nicely complemented by notes of chocolate and coffee. The beer finishes with a creamy mouthfeel and dry, bitter finish.
Overall this is a delicious seasonal offering from Falls City. The balance of malt and hops make it a great winter seasonal.
