Brown, opaque in color with nice off-white/tan head that dissipates quickly leaving hardly any head. Carbonation is decent and aroma is nutty and malty. Taste is sweet, watery and malty with just a light touch of hop bitterness. If you close your eyes and think, you can pick up a light nut flavor. Finish is slightly dry and balance is ok, alcohol is definitely noticeable in the finish..

Appearance: Dark black body with a light tan head that quickly fades to nothing, giving the beer the appearance of cola in the glass.
Aroma: There is a chocolate aroma and a slight note of alcohol. I don't pick up any pecans in the aroma.
Taste: I pick up a fresh roasted coffee flavor, some toasted bread, and a bit of an oak flavor.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is medium bodied but doesn't coat the mouth. A hint o f roasted bitterness is left on the palate.
Overall: I didn't get any pecan flavor in this beer, which is a pretty big disappointment considering the picture of pecans and use of the word "pecan" in the title of the beer. It's a decent porter but it doesn't deliver what is advertised. I wouldn't pick it up again.

Black porter. Burnt smell. Light backbone. Toasted malts. Slight sweetness. Bready finish accompanied by hop finish.

Black body with one finer offwhite head that dies quick with little lace.
Roasted malts that give off pecans as well as some sugary sweetness are in the aroma.
Smooth, sweet, easy to drink, the pecans give off a sugar sweetness to this beer that is balanced by some toasted malts/breadlike feel.
A one-trick pony, so to speak, but really easy drinking beer that is worth trying.

Fast dissipating head, creamy body completely opaque and black. Smells like rye bread a little, nice chocolate and nut baked malt. A little alcohol in the nose but only slight. Some burnt sugar and nuts. The taste is somewhat dried cocoa powder and ground up nuts. Malt sweetness and some hops in the finish. Alcohol more noticeable in the taste than the nose. Feel is average high carbonation, lighter than expected and pretty drinkable.
