16 oz. can poured into a globe. Thanks Will for the hookup.
Hazy orange-red with really nice sticky lacing.
Caramel malt and earthy hops.
Taste follows the nose. Nicely balanced-flavors open up as it warms. I get an herbal tea taste in the finish.
Smooth feel with moderate carbonation.
This is a nice Red IPA. Glad I got to try it and would gladly have again.

Got this 16 oz can at Grape and Gourmet in Va Beach. The name is a take-off on the Hockey term "hat trick". The can features a hockey player graphic and a write-up on our local Tidewater minor league hockey team "the Admirals". The beer pours a hazy orange color with a big cream colored frothy head. Excellent retention and thick bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma is piney hops and caramel malt. Quite pronounced and pleasant. Taste is more of the same with the hops bitterness winning out a little over the sweet caramel malt. Mouthfeel is very good. Nice balance between hops and malt, good level of bitterness. Rich and crisp. O'Connor has put out several very tasty beers and this is one of them!!

The text on the bottom of the can reads 100915 @ 1225 so I'm guessing this one is just about 4 months old.
I also want to make a point that the can does say "Red IPA."
Appearance: It's a hazy orange-gold color with a thick frothy eggshell-white head. It pours vigorously even when I take great care to keep the head down. The head forms a massive billowing cloud that lasts and lasts. Good lacing.
Aroma: This has a very good aroma especially for a beer that has been sitting for 4 months. It's a bit of pine with some orange zest. It's strong enough to smell when away from the glass. Although the presence is strong even from afar it isn't a massive overwhelming aroma. I would say that it is outstanding though.
Taste: There is a good deal of bitterness and a bit of that vegital hop flavor comes through right up front. There is a bit of a woody and earthy flavor to the beer with just a bit of orange rind. The malt doesn't make its presence known.
Mouthfeel: It's a very easy to drink beer that gives just enough bitterness to make it interesting. The mouthfeel is dry and crisp with ample carbonation.
Overall: It's a good beer. I really wish it showcased a bit more flavor but the beer was still enjoyable enough to drink. I would have one but probably wouldn't grab it again too quickly. I would recommend it if you want a crisp bitter beer that is very drinkable.

Poured a golden body with minor head and lace patches.
Slight grapefruit aroma as there definitely some hops in this beer with some dirtiness as well.
Dry, clean body, bitter citric hops with a touch of grape sweetness but mostly just bitter hops.
Finishes easy and is a decent IPA.
