Dark, cola color with a tan leathery medium head. Aroma very subtle but pleasant with a nutty note to it. A nice, solid rich taste throwing coffee flavor and maltiness at me. Carrying with it a touch of bitterness that's in a good proportion - meaning not too much. After 5 or so sips / drinks I starting picking up some caramel in the aroma. I was drinking it from a Pilsener-styled glass which is wider in the middle and narrower at the top - similar concept to many wine glasses concentrating the aroma at your nose as you drink. You wouldn't pick that up drinking directly from the bottle. I nice drinker - I'd buy it again.

Pours dark brown with a 2 1/2 finger head that dissipates to nothing, after leaving light, but thick lacing on the way.
Aroma of dark malt implying dark chocolate with alcohol and a hint of roasted pecans implying vanilla, or a milky liqueur.
Taste is sweet malt initially, but as it warms it becomes more tart with definite roasted malt. Hints of pecan in the follow through.
Medium full in body with a crisp bite. Somewhat astringent and drying in the end.
Tasty brew with great body. Pecans are subtle, but it's easy drinking, with great flavor retention.
