2018 version.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a 1 1/2", creamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: An enticing aroma of coffee, bourbon, malt, vanilla, and chocolate.

T: Tasted of a moderate amount of roasted malt (present throughout; not overly pronounced), a decent bit of bourbon (and its barrel), some coffee, a little licorice, a hint of vanilla, and light chocolate. This is an interesting flavor. It's not quite like other stout flavors (it's more like a black ale flavor), but it still works. It's lighter in character, but still rich.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A well done, surprisingly easy to drink stout. Worth a try.

Poured a black body with one-finger khaki head that left a lace ring down the glass. Smell is basically coffee with hints of vanilla, wood and booze. Fuller body with a dry coffee taste that is balanced and beer is smooth and easy drinking thanks to a woodiness. Burst of vanilla comes in at some point so it has a little sweetness and then finishes dry but not boozy.
